Note #011: Oswin Erhunmwunse (Historic Center Efficiency)
Former Providence College center Oswin Erhunmwunse entered the transfer portal after his 2025-26 season with the Friars, committing to another Big East school, Creighton University, for the 2026-27 season.
As a sophomore in 2025-26, Erhunmwunse averaged 6.9 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 2.1 BPG, while shooting 67.3% on 147 FGA.
Since 1953-54, only seven NCAA Division I men's basketball players have averaged at least 6.5 PPG, 8 RPG, and 2 BPG while shooting greater than 65% on 145+ FGA as a sophomore:
145-200 FGA
1. Oswin Erhunmwunse (2025-26) - 6.9 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 2.1 BPG, 67.3% (147 FGA)
200-300 FGA
2. Mike Watkins (2017-18) - 12.1 PPG, 8.9 RPG, 2.3 BPG, 68.5 FG% (213 FGA)
3. Kevin Samuel (2019-20) - 10.0 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 2.7 BPG, 65.3 FG% (216 FGA)
4. Tacko Fall (2016-17) - 10.9 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 2.6 BPG, 71.5 FG% (235 FGA)
5. Warren Kidd (1990-91) - 13.4 PPG, 12.3 RPG, 2.3 BPG, 70.0 FG% (247 FGA)
300+ FGA
6. Daniel Gafford (2018-19) - 16.9 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 2.0 BPG, 66.0 FG% (324 FGA)
7. Rasheed Wallace (1994-95) - 16.6 PPG, 8.2 RPG, 2.7 BPG, 65.4 FG% (364 FGA)
Erhunmwunse had the fewest FGA by a solid margin, and was the only player not to average double-figure points.
Since 1953-54, just five other NCAA Division I men's players in their freshman season averaged at least 6.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 1.5 BPG in 20.1 MP/G or less + shot at least 60% (min. 125 FGA):
125-150 FGA
1. Tacko Fall (2015-16) - 7.4 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 2.3 BPG, 75.0 FG% (128 FGA)
2. Najai Hines (2025-26) - 6.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 2.2 BPG, 60.2 FG% (133 FGA)
150-200 FGA
3. Hakeem Olajuwon (1981-82) - 8.3 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 2.5 BPG, 60.7 FG% (150 FGA)
4. Donovan Clingan (2022-23) - 6.9 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 1.8 BPG, 65.5 FG% (171 FGA)
200+ FGA
5. Zach Collins (2016-17) - 10.0 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 1.8 BPG, 65.2 FG% (207 FGA)
We have an entire post centered around Hines (Note #009, detailing his historical per 40 metrics at Seton Hall). Fall and Clingan are mentioned there, too.
