Note #017: Drew Fielder (6'11" Efficiency Engine)

Former Boise State Bronco and Georgetown Hoya Drew Fielder has again entered the transfer portal, committing to Alabama for 2026-27.

In his first and only year at Boise St., as a junior in 2025-26, Fielder averaged 24.8 PTS/40 MP (14.5 PPG, 23.7 MP/G) while shooting 60.6% from 2 (131/216) and 40.9% from 3 (38/93) in 32 GP.

Since 1980-81, the NCAA Division I men's players to post at least 24.5 PTS/40 MP on 60.5 2P% (min. 215 2PA) and 40.5 3P% (min. 90 3PA) are:

28+ PTS/40 MP
1. Doug McDermott (2011-12) - 28.7 PTS/40 MP (31.9 MP/G), 63.3 2P% (253/400), 48.6 3P% (54/111)
2. Calbert Cheaney (1990-91) - 28.5 PTS/40 MP (30.3 MP/G), 62.4 2P% (246/394), 47.3 3P% (43/91)

28-26 PTS/40 MP
3. Ryan Davis (2021-2022) - 26.3 PTS/40 MP (26.4 MP/G), 66.1 2P% (152/230), 44.1 3P% (45/102)
4. Jamal Mashburn (1991-92) - 26.1 PTS/40 MP (32.7 MP/G), 61.4 2P% (221/360), 43.9 3P% (58/132)

26-25 PTS/40MP

5. Jeff Hodge (1988-89) - 25.7 PTS/40 MP (33.8 MP/G), 61.1 2P% (220/360), 48.1 3P% (52/108)
6. Dylan Windler (2018-19) - 25.6 PTS/40 MP (33.2 MP/G), 65.9 2P% (143/217), 42.9 3P% (100/233)

< 25 PTS/40 MP
7. Drew Fielder (2025-26) -
24.8 PTS/40 MP (23.7 MP/G), 60.6 2P% (131/216), 40.9 3P% (38/93)

FWIW, no player listed except Fielder (6' 11") is taller than 6'8".

Also of note, in his 2024-25 sophomore season at Georgetown, Fielder's MP/G and GP (23.5, 31) were almost identical to his junior year at Boise, but his PTS/40 MP was only 12.1 that season.

His 3-point shooting, which was 40.7% (22/54) as a freshman at G'Town, dipped to 25.0% (18/74) his sophomore year before rebounding in a big way in 2025-26 (on 19 more attempts).

McDermott is also highlighted in Note #012 on Eian Elmer's three-year college shooting exhibit.

If we lower the 2P% threshold a tick to 60.4, enters:

1989 NBA Draft 4th overall pick:
Glen Rice (1988-89) - 30.2 PTS/40 MP (34.0 MP/G), 60.4 2P% (264/437!), 51.6 3P% (99/192)

Or, if we lower the 3P% threshold two ticks (40.3), enters 3x All-Patriot League star:
Matt Rogers (2024-25) - 25.2 PTS 40/MP (26.6 MP/G), 65.0 2P% (225/403), 40.3 3P% (60/149)
