Note #038: Cameron Carr (Combine Clinician)
Former Tennessee Volunteer and Baylor Bear Cameron Carr has declared for the 2026 NBA Draft (and popped at the NBA Combine) following his lone season in Waco.
Carr played in 34 games (33.7 MP/G) for Baylor in 2025-26, after only playing in 18 games across two seasons at Tennessee (2023-24, 2024-25).
As a junior (per Sports Reference, redshirted his sophomore year (4 GP) with the Vols due to injury) in 2025-26, Carr cruised to:
- 18.9 PPG
- 5.8 RPG
- 2.6 APG
- 0.9 SPG
- 1.3 BPG
Since 1947-48, there have been five other NCAA Division I juniors besides Carr to meet those per game baselines (min. 30 GP):
20-22 PPG
1. DaRon Holmes II (2023-24) - 20.4 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 2.6 APG, 0.9 SPG, 2.1 BPG (33 GP, 32.5 MP/G)
2. Michael Bradley (2000-01) - 20.8 PPG, 9.8 RPG, 2.6 APG, 0.9 SPG, 1.8 BPG (31 GP, 34.0 MP/G)
3. Dwayne Wade (2002-03) - 21.5 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 4.4 APG, 2.2 SPG, 1.3 BPG (33 GP, 32.1 MP/G)
22+ PPG
4. Bubba Wells (1995-96) - 26.3 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 2.9 APG, 1.6 SPG, 1.5 BPG (30 GP, 36.1 MP/G)
5. Lionel Simmons (1988-89) - 28.4 PPG, 11.4 RPG, 3.0 APG, 1.7 SPG, 1.9 BPG (32 GP, 38.1 MP/G)
In 2025-26, only one other player met Carr's per game baselines (no GP floor): freshman, and fellow 2026 NBA Draft declarant:
Caleb Wilson - 19.8 PPG, 9.4 RPG, 2.7 APG, 1.5 SPG, 1.4 BPG (24 GP, 31.3 MP/G)
For fun, if we remove APG entirely, we get two more players in 2025-26 to hit the other four per game thresholds:
1. Hannes Steinbach - 18.5 PPG, 11.8 RPG, 1.1 SPG, 1.2 BPG (30 GP, 34.6 MP/G)
2. JT Toppin - 21.8 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 1.4 SPG, 1.7 BPG (25 GP, 34.8 MP/G)
Steinbach, another 2026 NBA Draft entrant, was a freshman in the season above. Toppin a junior.
D-Wade debuted in Note #035 on 2026 NBA Draft hopeful Aaron Nkrumah.
Wells worked his way into Note #024 on Siena-now-Syracuse standout Gavin Doty.
Hannes is heating up:
Note #027 (Massamba Diop) / Note #033 (Michael Ajayi) / Note #037 (Chris Cenac Jr.)
Lastly, Texas Tech's Toppin took off in Note #018 on Thomas Haugh.
